This is why we are Canada’s first fair trade organic coffee roaster since 1995. It’s also why we were the first coffee roaster in the world to join the small-producer-owned fair trade certification model SPP in 2011. Since then, we've proudly sourced our beans exclusively from small-producer owned fair trade co-ops in Latin America, Africa, and Indonesia–ensuring outstanding ethical practices and exceptional quality.

More than jobs, we believe in meaningful work. It’s been this way since 1995, when our founder Jeff Moore, his partner Deb, and three other coffee lovers from Wolfville, Nova Scotia, decided to take a shot at starting Canada’s first fair trade coffee roastery as a worker-owned co-op.
Our founding members didn’t know much about running a business, but their success was fueled by one conviction - that fantastic coffee could only be made when people and the planet was respected from seed to cup.
